Welcome to V-harmony!
"To teach, to serve, and to inquire into the nature of things," (Baldwin). We've all heard the University of Georgia motto a hundred times and understand that it's incredibly important to get involved and give back to the community. The hard part is figuring out how to get involved and give back. Classes, organizations, internships, part-time jobs, and a "personal life" make it difficult to find the time just to volunteer, let alone attend an involvement fair or various informational sessions to learn about the organizations that you could potentially get involved in to do service. Trust us, we know. We're right there with you. That's why we've created V-harmony!
V-harmony provides you instant access to Volunteer UGA's 30+ service-based student organizations, ranging from mentoring education to environmental advocacy to philanthropic fundraising opportunities. Whether it's 2pm or 2am, we encourage you to browse through these service organizations as your schedule permits. What kind of service are you searching for? Health promotion? Serving the hungry? Advocating for more socially just public policy? It's all here!
Here's how it works:
- Identify a "network," or community need, that you would be interested in getting involved with: Environment/Animals; Gender/Age/Special Needs; Global Issues; Health/Social Service; Mentoring/Education; Philanthropy/General Service; or Poverty/Hunger.
- Select a type of service that best matches how you'd like to be involved: advocacy; direct, hands-on service; or philanthropy.
- Browse the organizations that match your interests and initiate contact.
Find your match and make a date with service today!
